Bad Memories

Postby nickd » Sat Jan 08, 2011 4:39 pm

Hi, one and all.
And a belated Happy New Year!
Just a reminder that if you missed the hour-long radio play "Bad Memories" (a supernatural thriller) on BBC 4 on January 7, you can hear it online via BBC iPlayer for seven more days:

Thanks to Paul for getting the broadcast info posted in a timely fashion! As always, much appreciated.
Best wishes to all in all corners of the globe (from a very cold & snowy part of the Northeastern U.S.),
Nick D.

I listened to this recently and it scared the willies out of me! Very well done and perfect if you're in the mood to be creeped out.

I thought Nicola Walker was particularly good. Couldn't help hearing Rupert as being a bit "Lestrade-y" because it was a similar character but the banter between him and Nicola's character was excellent - they should do other stuff together (I don't believe they collided when Rupert was in Spooks?)

Yes, I had the same thought about Lestrade when I heard it, I'm sure that was because Series 1 of Sherlock was so fresh in my mind. Agree completely on the shivers-down-the-spine factor. And you're quite right, RG never crossed paths with Nicola Walker in the Spooks episode (still my favorite among his numerous nasty right-wing power figures).
Don't know about the U.K., but in the U.S. the classic kindergarten teacher's evaluation is: "Plays well with others." Always felt this would make a good description of RG as an actor! So generous and genuinely responsive to his "scene partners."
Hope you'll be able to catch the other two 2011 radio dramas, especially Mary Toft's Rabbit Tale, where everyone appears to be having a lot of fun.
